It is with great pleasure that I report on the progress our Company has achieved during the first quarter of 2010. The national economy has now begun the recovery from the deepest recession it has seen since the Great Depression although the recovery remains somewhat fragile with unemployment remaining stubbornly high. Interest rates remain at historically low levels squeezing bank interest margins and bank profitability.

It was the summer of 2005 when Ashton Ryan began the process of forming First NBC Bank. Then Katrina hit and the future of New Orleans and surrounding area was in doubt as the city filled with water. But where others saw questions, Ryan saw opportunity and was able to convince others that a new bank was exactly what New Orleans needed as it rebuilt after the storm. He found local investors that shared his vision and was able to raise over $60 million to capitalize the bank, the most by a Louisiana-chartered bank in state history...
