Once again I have the pleasure of providing an update on the progress of our Company for the third quarter of 2011 and also to provide you with more information on the significant events of the two months after the quarter-end related to our acquisition of Central Progressive Bank (CPB) in an FDIC failed bank transaction.
It was the summer of 2005 when Ashton Ryan began the process of forming First NBC Bank. Then Katrina hit and the future of New Orleans and surrounding area was in doubt as the city filled with water. But where others saw questions, Ryan saw opportunity and was able to convince others that a new bank was exactly what New Orleans needed as it rebuilt after the storm. He found local investors that shared his vision and was able to raise over $60 million to capitalize the bank, the most by a Louisiana-chartered bank in state history...
